One of the most picturesque and archeologically rich regions in South Asia, is the Sylhet Division. Its bourgeoning economy has become a part of the attractions of the region, as landscapes are filled with fragrant orange and pineapple gardens and breathtaking tea plantations. Many Sylhet community members have found work and residence abroad, particularly in the United Kingdom and have been using remittances to fund projects and industries within the Sylhet Division, allowing the export industry and foreign investment sectors to grow.
Sylhet division is the north-eastern division of Bangladesh, named after its main city, Sylhet. It shares the border with the Indian state of Meghalaya in the north and is surrounded by the Jaintia, Khasia and Tripura hills. Located on the northern bank of the Surma River, Sylhet is nestled among picturesque tea plantations and lush green tropical forests.
Day – 01
After breakfast take the morning domestic flight to Sylhet. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the hotel. After check-in and lunch the accompanying guide will take you on afternoon sightseeing tour of Sylhet town. Have dinner and stay overnight at Sylhet.
Day – 02
After breakfast start for full day excursion to Tamabil and Jaflong. Situated amidst a splendid panorama Tamabil is a border outpost on the Sylhet-Shillong road about 55 km from Sylhet town. Glimpses of the waterfalls across the border from Tamabil add to the enchanting views of the hilly area. After lunch visit Jaflong.
Jaflong is one of the most attractive tourist spots in Sylhet division of Bangladesh. Jaflong is famous for its stone collections. It is a beautiful spot amidst tea gardens.
In the afternoon drive to Srimongal for dinner and overnight stay.
Day – 03
After breakfast drive for approximately two hours to the Madhobkunda waterfall. Surrounded by large tea estates, and decorated with water lilies, this spot is a favorite among locals as well as visitors from afar. The rubber and betel leaf and lemon plantations from a mosaic for greens, tropical for this rooling landscape. Drive back to Srimongal – also known as the ‘land of two leaves and bud’, a synonym for tea gardens and the large quantities of tea produced here. You can watch tea the processing at the tea Research Institute. After evening we return to our hotel/resort for dinner and overnight stay at Srimongal.
Day – 04
After breakfast we start for a rewarding wildlife trek through the nearby Lawacharra National Park. This is the best time to observe the abundant and diverse wildlife. As one of the last remaining tropical rainforests of Bangladesh, the Lawacharra forest is home to a large variety of rare and endangered species, the most prominent of which are the Hillock Gibbons. The small tract of dense forests is heaven for birdwatchers, naturalists and adventure seekers alike. After lunch drive for approximately two hours to the Madhobkunda waterfall. Surrounded by large tea estates and decorated with water lilies, this spot is a favorite among locals as well as visitors from afar. The rubber, betel leaf and lemon plantations from a mosaic of greens, typical for this rolling landscape. Return to the hotel/resort in the evening and overnight stay at Srimongal.
Day – 05
Full day will be free for you to explore this quaint little town. After lunch take the available domestic flight for going back to Dhaka.
